Am I eligible to sit the PMP exam?

PMI has two routes. With a four-year degree you need 36 months of experience leading projects within the last eight years; with a secondary diploma or an associate degree you need 60 months. Both routes require 35 hours of project management education, and this course covers that requirement in full (a CAPM® also counts). Experience does not have to carry the title project manager: leading and directing project work in any role counts. If you are not sure how to document it, we go through this on the onboarding session and during the first two weeks of the course. Please check the current PMP Handbook on pmi.org before you apply, PMI updates it from time to time.

What is the free onboarding session on 26 August, and do I have to attend?

A week before the cohort starts, on 26 August at 18:00 CET (19:00 Kyiv), Alina Piddubna opens the first session to everyone: those already registered and those still deciding. You will see how the course is built, get LMS access set up, walk through the PMI application and eligibility, and ask whatever you want to know. Registered participants are added automatically; if you are still deciding, register for the session on its own page (see the events linked on this page). Attending does not commit you to enrolling.

Do I need to apply to PMI before or after the course?

You can apply either before or after, but we recommend starting the PMI application process during the course, not before. The onboarding session walks you through the application in detail: eligibility requirements, how to document your experience correctly, and how to navigate the audit process if selected. Most candidates find it easier to submit their application once they understand the full picture, which typically happens within the first two weeks of the course.

What makes this prep different from self-study with PMI's official materials?

PMI's official materials tell you what's on the exam. This course teaches you how to think through it. The PMP exam doesn't test memorization, it tests situational judgment: given this scenario, what does a project manager do next? That kind of thinking is very difficult to develop alone with a book or a video course. Every session builds what we call the "project manager mindset" - the ability to read a scenario question and recognize what PMI is actually asking, not just what the words say. Add to that the live PMI Exam Simulator practice, the exam strategy session on cognitive traps and time management, and a trainer who has guided candidates through this exact exam, and the difference becomes tangible in your practice scores.

What if I don't pass the exam after the course?

We haven't designed this course for that outcome, but we also know that life happens, exam anxiety is real, and some candidates need more time. If you complete the course and don't pass on your first attempt, contact us. We will work with you individually to identify where the gaps are and support your preparation for the retake. The specifics depend on your situation, but you won't be left without support. Passing is the point.

Is there a Ukrainian-language option?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The current cohort listed on this page runs in English with PMI materials in English, designed for an international audience wherever they are based. However, INSTAR also runs PMP prep cohorts in Ukrainian, intended for Ukrainian professionals. The next Ukrainian cohort starts on 3 October 2026 (see the events on this page). If no Ukrainian cohort is open, you can register your interest, and we will notify you when registration opens.
