Do I need to be a Scrum Master to take PMI-ACP?

No. PMI-ACP is framework-agnostic. You need 12 months of general project experience in the last 5 years and 8 months of agile experience in the last 3 years (PMP/PgMP holders meet the general requirement automatically).

How is PMI-ACP different from CSM or PSM?

CSM and PSM are single-framework (Scrum). PMI-ACP covers multiple frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, LeSS) and tests judgment about when each applies. It is widely valued by employers who need leaders who can choose the right approach, not just run one ceremony.
